National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti launched a campaign “ Catch the rain” with the tag line “ Catch the rain, Where it falls, When it falls” in 2020 and 2021 to nudge the states and all stakeholders to create Rain Water Harvesting Structures (RWHS) suitable to climatic conditions and sub-soil strata, with people’s active participation.

Under Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign, it is very essential to generate awareness and Krishi Vigyan Kendra plays an important role to achieve the objective of the campaign. To create awareness among the farmers and other stakeholders on Jal Shakti Abhiyan, water conservation in the blocks of Nizampet and Medak block. From 30th April 2021 to 30th November 2021. As part of this event, we have highlighted the theme of Jal Shakti Abhiyan catching the rain where it falls when it falls, covering rural and urban areas of the Medak district. KVK Medak has conducted training awareness programs on water conservation management, different water harvesting structures, micro irrigation to save rain water different rainwater harvesting system,s etc. This year Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign has begun from 29th March 2022 to 30th November 2022in the pre-monsoon and monsoon periods of 2022, covering both urban and rural areas of all the districts in the country.
