Goshala


Cow Based Farming

Goshala was constructed in the year 2020 with an area of 900 sq. feet in the east-west direction. The ground portion is constructed with a concrete floor and the roof area is covered with MS sheets and also given provision to collect cow urine in a separate pit.

Under this Goshala, 1 acre of land is allotted to fodder grasses, and 2 acres of land is allotted to growing fodder tree crops with proper spacing as well as to open grazing.

The main objective of this Goshala is to collect cow dung and cow urine to prepare the different cow-based inputs for organic farming.

Total of 15 castles is maintained in this Goshala. Among these 15 cattle, 6 cows and 2 bulls are Gir breeds, 3 cows are local breed (Devuni), 1 bull is HF cross, and 3 calves.
