Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Medak has been provided with the status of CBBO (Cluster based Business Organization) by NCDC (National Cooperative Development Corporation) to promote and form two FPO’s in Nizampet and Medak blocks of Medak district, Telangana under CSS- Promotion and Formation of 10,000 FPO. KVK, Medak as CBBO conducted based survey in allotted blocks Medak and Nizampet under “One District One product”. After critical analysis of the data and several awareness meetings, 7 villages from medak block brought together and formed an FPO with 314 farmers with a share capital of Rs.2100/-. For FPO-Medak, we have submitted application for an equity grant and received an amount of Rs.6,28,000/-. In Nizampet block FPO was formed with 300 farmers with a share capital of Rs.1700/- from 5 villages and application for an equity grant of Rs.510000/- has been submitted to NCDC for grant.

Both FPOs were planning to start an Agri-Input center with available capital. Once they receive an equity grant from NCDC, these FPO will start the Business of Dall Mill (Nizampet FPO) and Oil mill (Medak FPO) with available capital as share capital, income from input business, and equity grant amount. Most of the members of FPOs are Marginal and small farmers, the business like Agri input center help members to get quality inputs like Seeds, Fertilizers, and Pesticides also FPO get income by selling inputs. These FPO Directors are very much interested to open their own procurement center through IKP which can be approved by form District Collector so that they speed up the business transactions of FPO and obtain additional sources of income for FPO.

In August 2022 both Nizampet and Medak FPOs are opening their respective Agri input centers i.e 20th August 2022 for Nizampet FPO and 24th August 2022 for Medak FPO. The Chief Guest for the inaguaration Agri input center for Medak FPO is Sri. Thaneeru Harish Rao Sir, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Health and Medical & Family Welfare of Telangana and Smt. Madavareddy Padma Devender Reddy madam, Hon’ble Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from Medak constituency.
